BRICS STI
In order to increase cooperation in the areas of Science, Technology and Innovation, India requested the BRICS countries to come forward and collaborate. This was the 9th BRICS science and technology ministers meeting chaired by India’s Minister for Science and Technology.
Aim of the meeting:
To innovate and make innovation cost-effective, affordable, accessible, sustainable and scalable
Offer scientific solutions to the upcoming challenges
To increase preparedness and response to pandemic like situation
Important Highlights:
The year 2021 marks the completion of 15 years of BRICS cooperation and the overall theme adopted was ‘BRICS@15: Intra-BRICS Cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus’.
India has prepared the Innovation Cooperation Action Plan 2021-24 with support from BRICS countries.
This action plan consists of new initiatives that will not only benefit the citizens but will expand to the BRICS nations.

विज्ञान, प्रौद्योगिकी और नवाचार के क्षेत्रों में सहयोग बढ़ाने के लिए भारत ने ब्रिक्स देशों से आगे आने और सहयोग करने का अनुरोध किया। भारत के विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री की अध्यक्षता में यह 9वीं ब्रिक्स विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रियों की बैठक थी।
बैठक का उद्देश्य:
नवाचार करना और नवाचार को लागत प्रभावी, वहनीय, सुलभ, टिकाऊ और मापनीय बनाना
आने वाली चुनौतियों का वैज्ञानिक समाधान पेश करें
महामारी जैसी स्थिति के लिए तैयारियों और प्रतिक्रिया को बढ़ाने के लिए
महत्वपूर्ण हाइलाइट्स:
वर्ष 2021 ब्रिक्स सहयोग के 15 साल पूरे होने का प्रतीक है और अपनाया गया समग्र विषय 'ब्रिक्स@15: निरंतरता, समेकन और आम सहमति के लिए इंट्रा-ब्रिक्स सहयोग' था।
भारत ने ब्रिक्स देशों के सहयोग से इनोवेशन कोऑपरेशन एक्शन प्लान 2021-24 तैयार किया है।
इस कार्य योजना में नई पहलें शामिल हैं जो न केवल नागरिकों को लाभान्वित करेंगी बल्कि ब्रिक्स देशों तक विस्तारित होंगी।
