The collegium of the Supreme Court approved the proposal to make PV Justice Sanjay Kumar of the Punjab and Haryana High Court the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court. Justice Kumar has served in the Andhra Pradesh High Court from 2000 to 2003 as a public prosecutor. He became an additional judge in the High Court in August 2008 and took charge as a permanent judge on 20 January 2010. Justice Kumar became the judge in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on 14 October 2019.
