1) ग्रेटर विशाखापत्तनम नगर निगम (जीवीएमसी) को "वाटर प्लस" शहर घोषित किया गया है।
➨ स्वच्छ भारत मिशन और स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण आकलन के तहत नागरिक निकाय को आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्रालय (MoHUA) से 'वाटर प्लस' प्रमाणन प्राप्त हुआ है।
➨ पता चला कि विशाखापत्तनम के साथ तिरुपति नगर निगम और विजयवाड़ा नगर निगम (वीएमसी) को भी टैग मिला है.

2) दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय ने अगले शैक्षणिक वर्ष से राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति को लागू करने का फैसला किया है, जिसके बाद विश्वविद्यालय शिक्षक संघ ने हड़ताल का आह्वान किया है।
➨ अकादमिक मामलों पर स्थायी समिति ने 2022-23 से नीति के कार्यान्वयन, चार वर्षीय स्नातक कार्यक्रम और छात्रों के लिए कई प्रविष्टियां और निकास विकल्प को मंजूरी दी।
3) तमिलनाडु के वरिष्ठ भाजपा नेता ला गणेशन को मणिपुर का नया राज्यपाल नियुक्त किया गया है।
➨ इस महीने की शुरुआत में नजमा हेपतुल्ला के सेवानिवृत्त होने के बाद राज्यपाल का पद खाली हो गया था।
➨डॉ. हेपतुल्ला ने 10 अगस्त को पद छोड़ दिया था और उसी दिन सिक्किम के राज्यपाल गंगा प्रसाद को प्रभार दिया गया था।

4) भारत के 54 एथलीट तीरंदाजी, एथलेटिक्स (ट्रैक एंड फील्ड), बैडमिंटन, तैराकी, भारोत्तोलन सहित 9 खेल विषयों में प्रतिस्पर्धा करेंगे।
➨ यह किसी भी पैरालिंपिक में भारत द्वारा भेजी गई अब तक की सबसे बड़ी टुकड़ी है। युवा मामले और खेल मंत्रालय के अनुसार, सभी 54 एथलीट लक्ष्य ओलंपिक पोडियम योजना (TOPS) योजना का हिस्सा हैं।
5) जापान की अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी ने मंगल क्षेत्र से मिट्टी के नमूने वापस लाने की योजना बनाई है, ताकि ग्रह की उत्पत्ति और संभावित जीवन के निशान के सुराग खोजने की उम्मीद में, अमेरिका और चीनी मिशन अब मंगल ग्रह पर काम कर रहे हैं।
➙जापान एयरोस्पेस एक्सप्लोरेशन एजेंसी, या JAXA, 2024 में मंगल ग्रह के चंद्रमा फोबोस पर उतरने के लिए 10 ग्राम मिट्टी इकट्ठा करने और 2029 में इसे वापस पृथ्वी पर लाने के लिए एक एक्सप्लोरर लॉन्च करने की योजना बना रही है।
6)भारतीय नौसेना के दो जहाजों, आईएनएस रणविजय और आईएनएस कोरा ने 23 अगस्त 2021 को पश्चिम फिलीपीन सागर में फिलीपीन नौसेना के बीआरपी एंटोनियो लूना के साथ एक समुद्री साझेदारी अभ्यास किया।
7) सेना के एक चयन बोर्ड ने 26 साल की "गणनीय सेवा" पूरी करने के बाद पांच महिला अधिकारियों को कर्नल रैंक में पदोन्नत करने का रास्ता साफ कर दिया है।
➨यह पहली बार है कि कोर ऑफ सिग्नल, कोर ऑफ इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स एंड मैकेनिकल इंजीनियर्स (ईएमई) और कोर ऑफ इंजीनियर्स के साथ सेवारत महिला अधिकारियों को कर्नल के पद पर मंजूरी दी गई है।
8) केंद्रीय सतर्कता आयोग (CVC) ने टीएम भसीन को बैंकिंग और वित्तीय धोखाधड़ी के सलाहकार बोर्ड (ABBFF) के अध्यक्ष के रूप में फिर से नियुक्त किया, जो 50 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की बैंक धोखाधड़ी की जांच करने और कार्रवाई की सिफारिश करने के लिए गठित एक पैनल है।

➨ The civic body has received the ‘Water Plus’ certification from Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) under Swachh Bharat Mission and Swachh Survekshan Assessment.
➨ It was learnt that along with Visakhapatnam, Tirupathi Municipal Corporation and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has also received the tag.

4) As many as 54 athletes from India will be competing in 9 sports disciplines including archery, athletics (Track and Field), badminton, swimming, weightlifting among others.
➨ This is the biggest-ever contingent India has sent to any Paralympics. All 54 athletes are part of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) scheme, as per the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

➨This is the first time that women officers serving with the Corps of Signals, Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) and the Corps of Engineers have been approved to the rank of Colonel.
8) The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) re-appointed T M Bhasin as chairman of the Advisory Board for Banking and Financial Frauds (ABBFF), a panel constituted to examine bank frauds of over Rs 50 crore and recommend action.
