Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of development projects worth more than ₹7,780 crore in Assam and West Bengal. These projects focus on infrastructure development, transport connectivity and regional economic growth. Along with this, five Amrit Bharat Express trains were flagged off from the two states, reflecting Indian Railways’ modernisation efforts aimed at improving passenger comfort and strengthening national connectivity.

In West Bengal alone, development projects worth more than ₹830 crore were launched and three Amrit Bharat Express trains connecting Kolkata with other parts of the country were inaugurated. These initiatives are expected to support trade, tourism and balanced regional development by improving mobility and accessibility.
