3. India's first solar-powered spy drone to become part of the Army: The Indian Army has signed a Rs 168 crore deal with a Bengaluru-based startup for solar-powered spy drones, a move expected to strengthen the Army's future warfare readiness.
The system, called the Medium Altitude Persistent Surveillance System, or MAPSS, has been developed by Bengaluru-based NewSpace Research & Technologies under the Defence Ministry’s iDEX innovation programme.
4. DRDO has successfully flight-tested the Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile with top-attack capability against a moving target in Maharashtra. The third-generation fire-and-forget missile strengthens India’s indigenous defence capability and is a major step towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
