1) भारत ने तोक्यो ओलंपिक के प्ले-ऑफ़ में जर्मनी को 5-4 से हराकर पुरुषों की हॉकी में कांस्य पदक जीतकर 41 साल के लंबे, कष्टदायी इंतजार का अंत किया।
➨ यह ओलंपिक के इतिहास में भारत का तीसरा हॉकी कांस्य पदक है। अन्य दो 1968 मेक्सिको सिटी और 1972 म्यूनिख खेलों में आए थे।
2) पुनर्जीवित हल्दीबाड़ी-चिलाहाटी रेल लिंक के माध्यम से स्टोन चिप्स को बांग्लादेश ले जाने वाली पहली मालगाड़ी पूर्वोत्तर सीमांत रेलवे (एनएफआर) में अलीपुरद्वार डिवीजन के दमदीम स्टेशन से निकलती है।

1) India ended a long, excruciating wait of 41 years as they bagged the bronze medal in men’s hockey after defeating Germany 5-4 in the play-off at the Tokyo Olympics.
➨ It is India's third hockey bronze medal in the history of the Olympics. The other two came in 1968 Mexico City and the 1972 Munich Games.
2) The first goods train carrying stone chips to Bangladesh through the revived Haldibari – Chilahati rail link leaves from Damdim station of Alipurduar Division in Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).
➨The Haldibari – Chilahati rail link between India and the then East Pakistan was operational till 1965. This was part of the Broad Gauge main route from Kolkata to Siliguri during partition.

5) Noted author and Padma Shri awardee Padma Sachdev, the first modern woman poet of Dogri language, passed away at a Mumbai hospital.
