6.  Food Corporation of India (FCI) has increased the pace of rice offtake from Odisha creating more storage space in district godowns for stocking custom milled rice (CMR).  The CMR delivery to the central pool which stood at 31.63 lakh tonne by the end of August has now gone up to 49.89 lakh tonne as on December 12.

7.  India’s handicraft sector continues to serve as one of the largest employment generators in rural and semi-urban areas. 

8.  Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026, the 9th edition of PM Modi’s interactive session with students, teachers, and parents, will be held in January 2026. Registrations are open on the MyGov portal till January 11 for a chance to participate and receive certificates.

9.  DHRUVA: India’s Digital Hub for Reference and Unique Virtual Address Launched. DHRUVA is a digital addressing system that will assign Digital Address Identifiers (DAI) to existing physical addresses. 10.  Lok Sabha will today resume discussion on election reforms. Yesterday, intervening in the discussion, Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said, Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral rolls were conducted several times during the Congress regime, but now the opposition is raising questions over the exercise.

11.  IIT Bombay’s Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE)  launched India’s first incubator-linked deep tech venture  capital fund. Called the Y-Point Venture Capital Fund, it has a total corpus of 250 crore rupees and aims to support India’s deep tech startups by providing crucial risk capital at an early stage of their journey. 

12.  Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia  reaffirmed the Government’s unwavering commitment to accelerating 6G innovation to make India a leader in the emerging communication technologies. 

13.  India records 1.49% quarterly growth in internet users, reaching 1.017 billion in Q2 FY26. Broadband use grows, while wireline and narrowband subscribers decline.

1.  The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested another key accused in connection with last month’s Delhi bomb blast case. NIA said that Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla of Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir is the 8th accused to be arrested in the case. He was nabbed by an NIA team from Delhi.

2.  The News Broadcasting and Digital Standards Authority on Tuesday directed five news channels to take down eight shows that linked a National Council of Educational Research and Training textbook to a “love jihad” conspiracy.

3.  Ghaziabad recorded PM2.5 levels of 224 µg/m³ in November 2025, making it the most polluted city in India, as per a CREA study on worsening NCR air quality.

1.  Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Indian Navy, has proceeded on an official visit to Brazil from 09 to 12 Dec 2025. The visit aims to consolidate the robust and growing maritime partnership between the Indian Navy and the Brazilian Navy. 

2.  The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has handed over two major indigenous technologies to the Indian Army’s Corps of Military Engineering (CME) in Pune—the Camouflage Pattern Generation Software Sigma 4.0 (CPGS 4.0) and a full-scale Multispectral Signature Tank Mock-up.

CPGS 4.0 is an upgraded software suite capable of generating optimised camouflage patterns across multiple spectral bands, including visible, infrared, and radar.

3.  Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Ship Sarthak, an indigenously designed and built Offshore Patrol Vessel has commenced its overseas deployment of Gulf countries with maiden port call at Suwaikh, Kuwait. 

4.  Tata Advanced Systems and Lockheed Martin break ground on a new MRO facility near Bengaluru to maintain and repair C-130J Hercules aircraft, boosting India’s defence readiness and ‘Make in India’ aviation infrastructure.

5.  India’s missile defence architecture is poised for a major advancement with the possible integration of Russia’s S-500 system. 1.  In Indonesia, at least 22 people, including a pregnant woman, died  when a fire engulfed a seven-story office building in central Jakarta. The blaze broke out on the first floor of the Kemayoran building and spread quickly. 

2.  In a significant global effort to revitalize the World Trade Organization (WTO) and promote equitable global trade, CUTS International has launched a new initiative titled “Trade Not Just Aid: Winners and Losers in the WTO” (TRaNJA). The initiative aims to reposition the WTO as the cornerstone of a fair and rule-based multilateral trading system.

1. राष्ट्रीय जांच एजेंसी (NIA) ने पिछले महीने दिल्ली बम विस्फोट मामले में एक और प्रमुख आरोपी को गिरफ्तार किया। जम्मू-कश्मीर के बारामूला निवासी डॉ. बिलाल नसीर मल्ला इस मामले में गिरफ्तार किए गए 8वें आरोपी हैं।
