1. The Indian Army has deployed an Engineer Task Force to Sri Lanka to assist in rebuilding critical infrastructure damaged by the cyclone. Working alongside the Sri Lankan Army and the Road Development Authority, Indian engineers have begun preparations at key sites, including Chilaw and Kilinochchi in northern Sri Lanka. Damaged bridges have been de-launched, and Bailey bridges are being installed to quickly restore road connectivity in affected regions.
2. In Jammu and Kashmir, the Army has intensified patrols in the higher reaches of the Jammu region to prevent infiltration and maintain constant vigil over sensitive areas along the Line of Control, even as there has been an absence of heavy snowfall.

भारत के बारे में तथ्य
पश्चिमी घाट और पूर्वी घाट भारत के प्रायद्वीप को घेरे हुए दो प्रमुख पर्वत श्रृंखलाएं हैं।
पश्चिमी घाट:
ये गुजरात से केरल तक लगभग 1,600 किलोमीटर लंबी निरंतर पर्वत श्रृंखला है, जिसकी ऊंचाई 2,600 मीटर तक जाती है। यहां भारी मानसूनी वर्षा होती है, जिससे समृद्ध जैव विविधता विकसित हुई है। यह क्षेत्र यूनेस्को-मान्यता प्राप्त वर्षावनों और स्थानिक प्रजातियों का घर है तथा दक्षिण-पश्चिम मानसून के लिए प्राकृतिक अवरोध का कार्य करता है।
पूर्वी घाट:
इसके विपरीत, पूर्वी घाट ओडिशा से तमिलनाडु तक लगभग 1,750 किलोमीटर में असतत रूप से फैले हैं। इनकी औसत ऊंचाई लगभग 600 मीटर है और यहां अपेक्षाकृत शुष्क भूभाग तथा कम जैव विविधता पाई जाती है। गोदावरी और कृष्णा जैसी नदियों ने इन्हें पहाड़ियों और पठारों में विभाजित किया है, जो जलग्रहण और खनिज संसाधनों के लिए महत्वपूर्ण हैं।
