दक्षिण भारत में चोल राजवंश 

 ⇒प्राचीन भारत का एक राजवंश था जो  दक्षिण भारत में चोल ने 9 वीं शताब्दी से 12  वीं शताब्दी के बीच शासन किया है एक महत्वपूर्ण शक्तिशाली हिन्दू साम्राज्य का निर्माण किया। चोल के प्रसिद्ध शासक में राजराज चोल और राजेंद्र चोल ने तमिल क्षेत्र में राज्य का विस्तार किया।

⇒ राजराजा प्रथम ने अपने शासनकाल में सौ से अधिक मंदिरों को बनवाया। उन्होंने तंजौर में जिस शिव मंदिर (बृहदेश्‍वर मंदिर) को बनवाया, वह मूर्तिकला और वास्तुकला के लिहाज से आज भी एक उदाहरण है। इसे यूनेस्को द्वारा वर्ल्ड हेरिटेज साईट भी घोषित किया जा चुका है।

The Cholas were a dynasty

The Cholas were a dynasty of ancient India that ruled South India from the 9th century to the 12th century, forming an important powerful Hindu empire. Among the famous rulers of Chola, Rajaraja Chola and Rajendra Chola expanded the kingdom into the Tamil region.

Rajaraja I built more than a hundred temples during his reign. The Shiva temple (Brihadeshwar Temple) he built in Tanjore is still an example in terms of sculpture and architecture. It has also been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
