 भारत में 1 जुलाई को डॉ. विधानचंद्र राय के जन्मदिन के रूप में डॉक्टर्स डे मनाया जाता है. केंद्र सरकार ने साल 1991 में राष्ट्रीय डॉक्टर दिवस मनाने की शुरुआत की थी. देश के महान चिकित्सक और पश्चिम बंगाल के दूसरे मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. विधानचंद्र राय को सम्मान देने के लिए यह दिन मनाया जाता है.

आपको बता दें कि उनका जन्‍मदिवस और पुण्यतिथि दोनों ही 1 ही जुलाई को होती है

This day is celebrated to honor the great doctor of the country and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhanchandra Rai.
