भारत के 2 समुद्र तटों (बीच) को ब्लू फ्लैग सर्टिफिकेट (Blue Flag Certificate) से सम्मानित किया गया है.

ब्लू फ्लैग एक इको लेबल टैग है.

अबतक देश में कुल 8 समुद्री तटों को ब्लू फ्लैग सर्टिफिकेट दिया गया था. वहीं अब 2 और समुद्री तटों को ब्लू फ्लैग लेबल मिलने के बाद कुल 10 समुद्री तट ऐसे हो गए हैं जिनके पास ब्लू फ्लैग लेबल है.

इस साल तमिलनाडु में केवलन और पुडुचेरी में ईडन समुद्री तट को इस साल सर्टिफिकेट मिला है.

ब्लू फ्लैग प्रमाणन (Blue Flag Certificate) क्या होता है-

ब्लू फ्लैग प्रमाणन वाले समुद्र तटों को दुनिया भर में सबसे स्वच्छ समुद्र तटों के रूप में माना जाता है.

ब्लू फ्लैग सर्टिफिकेट डेनमार्क की पर्यावरण के लिए काम करने वाली संस्था फाउंडेशन फॉर एनवायरनमेंटल एजुकेशन (FEE) देती है.

इसके लिए चार प्रमुख आधारों पर आकलन किया जाता है, जिनमें पर्यावरण शिक्षा एवं सूचना, नहाने के पानी की गुणवत्ता, पर्यावरण प्रबंधन और समुद्र तटों पर संरक्षण, सुरक्षा एवं सेवा शामिल है.
