पूनम गुप्ता बनी NCAER की पहली महिला महानिदेशक--Poonam Gupta became the first woman director general of NCAER.

पूनम गुप्ता (Poonam Gupta) पॉलिसी थिंक टैंक नेशनल काउंसिल ऑफ एप्लाइड इकोनॉमिक रिसर्च (NCAER) की नई महानिदेशक होंगी। गुप्ता थिंक टैंक के वर्तमान प्रमुख शेखर शाह से पद ग्रहण करेंगी, यह पद संभालने वाली वह पहली महिला होंगी। वर्तमान में, गुप्ता वाशिंगटन डीसी में विश्व बैंक में प्रमुख अर्थशास्त्री हैं।

Poonam Gupta will be the new director general of the policy think tank National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER). Gupta will take over from Shekhar Shah, the current head of the think tank, she will be the first woman to hold the post. Currently, Gupta is the lead economist at the World Bank in Washington DC.

केंद्रीय दवा नियामक, DCGA ने रूसी वैक्सीन, Sputnik V के आपातकालीन उपयोग प्राधिकरण को मंजूरी दे दी है। कोविशील्ड और कोवेक्सिन के बाद दवा नियामक से आपातकालीन उपयोग प्राधिकरण प्राप्त करने वाला यह तीसरा टीका बन गया है। इस वैक्सीन को गामाले नेशनल रिसर्च इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ एपिडेमियोलॉजी एंड माइक्रोबायोलॉजी (Gamaleya National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology) द्वारा पिछले साल रूस में विकसित किया गया था।

• Clinical trial of SPUTNIK V in India is being done by Dr. Reddy's Lab. Located in Hyderabad, the multinational Indian pharma company, Dr. Reddy's Lab, has entered into an agreement with the Russian Direct Investment Fund, RDIF, for the supply of Russian vaccines in India.

• The Subject Expert Committee of the Drug Regulator of India yesterday recommended SPUTNIK V for Emergency Use Authority.

• The vaccine has demonstrated strong results in its clinical trials in the country.

• RDIF claims an effectiveness of 91.6 percent for the SPUTNIK V vaccine. Dr. Reddy applied for emergency use of SPUTNIK V in February this year.
