सरकार के थिंक टैंक नीति आयोग ने 12 सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उपक्रमों के निजीकरण के लिए पहली सूची प्रस्तुत की है।

नीति आयोग द्वारा प्रस्तुत सूची में रणनीतिक क्षेत्रों के PSU भी शामिल हैं। इस सूची की समीक्षा अब निवेश विभाग और सार्वजनिक परिसंपत्ति प्रबंधन विभाग (DIPAM) और Core Group of Secretaries on Divestment (CGD) द्वारा की जाएगी जिसकी अध्यक्षता कैबिनेट सचिव करेंगे।

वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण द्वारा बजट 2021 में सार्वजनिक उपक्रमों के निजीकरण की योजना की घोषणा की गई थी। इससे वित्त वर्ष 2021-1722 में विनिवेश के 1.75 लाख करोड़ रुपये के लक्ष्य को पूरा करने के लिए केंद्र के रास्ते साफ हो जाएंगे। वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने वर्ष 2021-22 में दो सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंक और एक सामान्य बीमा कंपनी के निजीकरण की घोषणा की थी। नीति आयोग को रणनीतिक सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उपक्रम के नाम सुझाने का काम सौंपा गया है, जिन्हें नए सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र उपक्रम (PSE) की नीति के अनुसार अन्य सार्वजनिक उपक्रमों के विलय, निजीकरण या सहायक बनाने की आवश्यकता है।

रणनीतिक क्षेत्रों में पेट्रोलियम, बिजली, परमाणु ऊर्जा, कोयला और अन्य खनिज, अंतरिक्ष, रक्षा, बीमा, बैंकिंग, वित्तीय सेवाएं, परिवहन और दूरसंचार शामिल हैं।

✅ NITI Aayog presented the first list of 12 PSUs for privatization.

 The government's think tank NITI Aayog has presented the first list for privatization of 12 public sector undertakings.

 ▪️ Key Points:

 The list submitted by NITI Aayog also includes PSUs of strategic sectors.  The list will now be reviewed by the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) and the Core Group of Secretaries on Divestment (CGD), which will be headed by the Cabinet Secretary.

 ▪️ Background:

 The plan to privatize PSUs was announced in Budget 2021 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.  This will clear the way for the Center to meet the target of Rs 1.75 lakh crore of disinvestment in FY 2021-1722.  Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the privatization of two public sector banks and a general insurance company in the year 2021-22.  The NITI Aayog has been tasked to suggest the names of strategic public sector undertakings, which are required to merge, privatize or make subsidiaries of other PSUs as per the new Public Sector Undertaking (PSE) policy.

 Strategic sectors include petroleum, electricity, nuclear power, coal and other minerals, space, defense, insurance, banking, financial services, transport and telecommunications.
