1.  The Government has convened an all-party meeting on Sunday ahead of the Winter Session of  Parliament beginning Monday. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju will meet the floor leaders of political parties of both the Houses in Parliament in the meeting. 

2.  Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the 60th All-India Conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police (DGP-IGP) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

3.  PM Modi has said that the path to Viksit Bharat lies in the unity of the people. The Prime Minister noted that despite facing many difficult situations, Goa not only preserved its original culture but also rejuvenated it over time. Addressing a gathering of devotees at the Sardha Panchashatamanotsav of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math near Canacona, Goa, he lauded the historic monastery for its enduring contribution to society. 

4.  PM Modi arrived in Raipur  to participate in the All India Conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police being held in Chhattisgarh. The three-day conference commenced yesterday at the Indian Institute of Management in Nawa Raipur. The Prime Minister will preside over various sessions of the conference scheduled on the 29th and 30th of November.

10.  The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued alerts for heavy rains, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, for Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala on Friday, under the influence of cyclonic storm ‘Ditwah'. It is expected to make landfall on November 30.

The name "Ditwah" means "lagoon" and was suggested by Yemen as part of the cyclone naming convention. The name specifically refers to the Detwah Lagoon on Socotra Island, Yemen, known for its unique and distinct coastal ecosystem.

1.  The Telangana High Court on Thursday warned senior officer AV Ranganath, who is serving as commissioner of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), that a non-bailable warrant would be issued against him if he fails to appear in person on December 5 in a contempt of court case related to the restoration work of Bathukamma Kunta Lake in Hyderabad. 

2.  The Supreme Court today(November 28) issued notice in a writ petition filed by the All Indian Parents Association Belarus Medical Students raising the issue of non-payment of stipend to foreign medical graduates in the State of Gujarat.

3.  Music Composer Ilaiyaraaja has won a copyright battle against the makers of the film 'Dude.' The Madras High Court ordered the immediate removal of two songs from the movie, citing a distortion of their essence. The production company's plea for more time was rejected, and the court emphasized the sanctity of the original compositions.

4.  The Supreme Court on Friday (November 28, 2025) gave the green signal for holding Maharashtra local bodies elections, stalled since 2022, in a move to revive grassroots democracy in the State and transfer the running of panchayati raj institutions from bureaucrats to elected representatives.

The Maharashtra State Election Commission, represented by senior advocate Balbir Singh, informed the court that reservation exceeded 50% in 40 out of the 246 municipal councils and 17 of the 42 nagar panchayats due for polls on December 2.

5.  The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed an appeal filed by Byju Raveendran, suspended director and promoter of Think and Learn Private Ltd (which ran the Ed-Tech firm Byju's), challenging an order of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal which held that the approval of the Committee of Creditors is necessary for the application filed by the BCCI to withdraw the insolvency proceedings.

2.  At IFFI 56, Goa CM Pramod Sawant unveiled a stamp honoring filmmaker K Vaikunth, recognizing his impact on Indian cinema with classics like Mere Apne and Mausam.

1.  The Defence Ministry  signed Letters of Offer and Acceptance (LOAs) with the United States to secure sustainment support for the Indian Navy’s fleet of MH-60R helicopters. The deal is worth more than seven thousand nine hundred crore rupees and was formalised in New Delhi under the Foreign Military Sales programme.

2.  Captain P Dinesh has formally assumed command of INS Pallava and taken over the appointment of Station Commander, Kalpakkam. 

3.  The Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, conducted its 26th Convocation Ceremony on 28 November 2025, marking another milestone in the institution’s legacy of shaping future naval leaders. A total of 87 Midshipmen of the 109th Indian Naval Academy Course, including ten international cadets from Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Bangladesh, were conferred B.Tech degrees by Dr V. Narayanan, Secretary, Department of Space and Chairman, ISRO.

1.  India commenced Operation Sagar Bandhu, aimed at providing relief materials and vital Humanitarian Assistance and Relief (HADR) support to the Cyclone Ditwah-hit Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has been dealing with the natural calamity for the past few days, killing 61 people and leaving 25 missing in the island nation.

2.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the people of Sri Lanka who lost their loved ones due to Cyclone Ditwah.

3.  India and Germany have unequivocally condemned terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, including cross border terrorism. In the 10th Meeting of the India-Germany Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism held in New Delhi yesterday, both sides strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 

4.  India has delivered 73 tonnes of life-saving medicines, vaccines and essential supplements to Kabul to cater to urgent medical needs of Afghanistan.
