👉 प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 2 सितंबर, 2022 को भारत के पहले स्वदेशी विमानवाहक पोत आईएनएस विक्रांत के जलावतरण के मौके पर भारतीय नौसेना के लिए नए नौसैनिक ध्वज (निशान) का भी अनावरण किया है। नए नौसैनिक निशान से, तिरंगे के साथ लगे सेंट जॉर्ज क्रॉस को हटा दिया गया है। अब ऊपर बाईं ओर तिरंगा बनाया गया है। इसके आगे नीले रंग की पृष्ठभूमि पर सुनहरे रंग में अशोक का प्रतीक है। इसके नीचे संस्कृत भाषा में ‘शम नो वरुणः’ लिखा है। इसका अर्थ है कि जल के देवता वरुण हमारे लिए शुभ हैं। इस नए ध्वज में नीला अष्टकोणीय आकार आठ दिशाओं का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है, जो भारतीय नौसेना की बहुआयामी पहुंच और बहु-कार्यात्मक परिचालन क्षमता का प्रतीक है, जबकि लंगर का प्रतीक “दृढ़ता” का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है।
