सरकार के प्रधान वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार के कार्यालय ने जिओलाइट्स (zeolites) जैसे महत्वपूर्ण कच्चे माल की आपूर्ति, कम्प्रेसर के निर्माण और छोटे ऑक्सीजन संयंत्रों की स्थापना सुनिश्चित करने के उद्देश्य से “Project O2 for India” शुरू किया है।

यह परियोजना COVID-19 की दूसरी लहर के बाद शुरू की गई थी, जिसमें देश भर में मेडिकल ऑक्सीजन की मांग में वृद्धि देखी गई थी। इस प्रकार, वर्तमान मांग को पूरा करने के साथ-साथ भविष्य की जरूरतों के लिए ऑक्सीजन की पर्याप्त आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के लिए मेडिकल ऑक्सीजन का निर्माण करना महत्वपूर्ण है।

🧾 Project O2 for India :

यह प्रोजेक्ट प्रधान वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार के कार्यालय द्वारा शुरू किया गया है ताकि उन हितधारकों को सक्षम बनाया जा सके जो चिकित्सा ऑक्सीजन की मांग में वृद्धि को पूरा करने के लिए भारत की क्षमता को बढ़ाने के लिए काम कर रहे हैं। इस प्रोजेक्ट के तहत, ऑक्सीजन का एक राष्ट्रीय संघ (National Consortium of Oxygen) स्थापित किया जाएगा जो जिओलाइट्स जैसे महत्वपूर्ण कच्चे माल की पर्याप्त राष्ट्रीय स्तर की आपूर्ति को सक्षम करेगा। यह छोटे ऑक्सीजन संयंत्र भी स्थापित करेगा, कम्प्रेसर का निर्माण करेगा और ऑक्सीजन संयंत्र, कंसन्ट्रेटर और वेंटिलेटर जैसे अंतिम उत्पादों का निर्माण करेगा। यह कंसोर्टियम तत्काल अल्पकालिक राहत प्रदान करने के साथ-साथ लंबी अवधि में विनिर्माण पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र को मजबूत करने के लिए काम करेगा।

👤 विशेषज्ञों की समिति :

भारत बेस्ड स्टार्ट-अप, निर्माताओं और सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यमों (MSMEs) से महत्वपूर्ण उपकरण जैसे कि कंसन्ट्रेटर, ऑक्सीजन संयंत्र और वेंटिलेटर का मूल्यांकन करने के लिए विशेषज्ञों की समिति का गठन किया गया है।

♻️ विनिर्माण और आपूर्ति संघ :

इसमें भारत इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स लिमिटेड (BEL), टाटा कंसल्टिंग इंजीनियर्स (TCE), आईआईटी कानपुर, आईआईटी दिल्ली, आईआईटी हैदराबाद, आईआईटी बॉम्बे और 40 से अधिक  MSME शामिल हैं।

What is Project O2 for India? 🤔

The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government has launched “Project O2 for India” with the objective of ensuring the supply of vital raw materials like zeolites, manufacturing of compressors and setting up of small oxygen plants.

Background:

The project was launched after the second wave of COVID-19, which saw an increase in the demand for medical oxygen across the country. Thus, it is important to manufacture medical oxygen to meet the current demand as well as ensure an adequate supply of oxygen for future needs.

Project O2 for India :

The project has been initiated by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to enable stakeholders who are working to enhance India's capacity to meet the increasing demand for medical oxygen. Under this project, a National Consortium of Oxygen will be established which will enable adequate national level supply of critical raw materials such as zeolites. It will also set up small oxygen plants, manufacture compressors and manufacture end products such as oxygen plants, concentrators and ventilators. The consortium will work to strengthen the manufacturing ecosystem in the long term along with providing immediate short-term relief.

Committee of Experts:

A committee of experts has been constituted to evaluate critical equipment such as concentrators, oxygen plants and ventilators from India-based start-ups, manufacturers and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

️ Manufacturing and Supply Association :

This includes Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE), IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay and more than 40 MSMEs.
