6 जून को 24वें बिम्सटेक दिवस पर बधाई देते हुए, पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा कि बिम्सटेक एक आशाजनक क्षेत्रीय समूह के रूप में उभरा है और इसमें कनेक्टिविटी समेत कई क्षेत्रों में प्रगति की है।

🤔 बिम्सटेक क्या है? (What is BIMSTEC?) :

बिम्सटेक (BIMSTEC) का अर्थ “Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation” (बहु-क्षेत्रीय तकनीकी और आर्थिक सहयोग के लिए बंगाल की खाड़ी पहल) है। यह 6 जून 1997 को बैंकॉक में BIST-EC (बांग्लादेश, भारत, श्रीलंका और थाईलैंड आर्थिक सहयोग) के नाम से स्थापित एक क्षेत्रीय बहुपक्षीय संगठन है। 1997 में म्यांमार को इसमें शामिल किया गया था, जिसके बाद समूह का नाम बदलकर ‘BIMST-EC’ (बांग्लादेश, भारत, म्यांमार, श्रीलंका और थाईलैंड आर्थिक सहयोग) कर दिया गया था। 2004 में नेपाल और भूटान के पूर्ण सदस्य बनने के बाद, बिम्सटेक का नाम बदलकर इसके वर्तमान स्वरूप में कर दिया गया।

👥 बिम्सटेक के सदस्य :

बिम्सटेक के सात सदस्य बंगाल की खाड़ी के तटवर्ती और आस-पास के क्षेत्र हैं जो एक क्षेत्रीय एकता का गठन करते हैं। 5 दक्षिण एशियाई देश हैं अर्थात् बांग्लादेश, भूटान, भारत, नेपाल और श्रीलंका जबकि 2 देश- म्यांमार और थाईलैंड- दक्षिण पूर्व एशिया से हैं।

♻️ बिम्सटेक का उद्देश्य :

बिम्सटेक महान हिमालय और बंगाल की खाड़ी की पारिस्थितिकी के अलावा दक्षिण और दक्षिण पूर्व एशिया को जोड़ता है। यह तेजी से आर्थिक विकास और सामाजिक प्रगति में तेजी लाने के लिए एक सक्षम वातावरण बनाने के उद्देश्य से स्थापित किया गया था।

BIMSTEC completes 24 years, know what is BIMSTEC?

Congratulating the 24th BIMSTEC Day on 6th June, PM Narendra Modi said that BIMSTEC has emerged as a promising regional grouping and has made progress in many areas including connectivity.

What is BIMSTEC? (What is BIMSTEC?) :

BIMSTEC stands for "Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation" (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation). It is a regional multilateral organization established on 6 June 1997 in Bangkok under the name BIST-EC (Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Thailand Economic Cooperation). Myanmar was included in 1997, after which the group's name was changed to 'BIMST-EC' (Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand Economic Cooperation). After Nepal and Bhutan became full members in 2004, the name of BIMSTEC was changed to its present form.

Members of BIMSTEC:

The seven members of BIMSTEC are along the coast and adjoining areas of the Bay of Bengal which constitute a regional unity. There are 5 South Asian countries namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka while 2 countries- Myanmar and Thailand- are from South East Asia.

️ Objective of BIMSTEC:

BIMSTEC connects the ecology of the Great Himalayas and the Bay of Bengal, as well as South and Southeast Asia. It was established with the aim of creating an enabling environment for accelerating rapid economic growth and social progress.
