हाल ही में DDoS के हमले के कारण बेल्जियम सरकार की साइट्स ऑफ़लाइन हो गयी थीं। देश के सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के कई सरकारी साइटों और इंटरनेट सेवा प्रदाताओं को DDoS ने बुरी तरह से प्रभावित किया।

▪️ DDoS क्या है?

DDoS का अर्थ Distributed Denial of Service है। यह एक साइबर खतरा है जो टारगेट सर्वर के सामान्य ट्रैफिक को बाधित करने का प्रयास करता है। यह मैलवेयर संक्रमित उपकरणों के नेटवर्क को नियंत्रित करके किया जाता है।

▪️ बल्जियम में क्या हुआ था?

मालवेयर को बेलनेट नेटवर्क (Belnet Network) में भेजा गया था। यह नेटवर्क सरकारी वेबसाइटों, पुलिस सेवाओं और सरकारी विश्वविद्यालयों और अनुसंधान संस्थानों को होस्ट करता है। इस नेटवर्क के मालवेयर वायरस से संक्रमित होने के बाद, पूरे नेटवर्क को रिमोटली नियंत्रित किया गया था।

▪️ DDoS काम कैसे करता है?

यह हमला इंटरनेट से जुड़े उपकरणों के एक नेटवर्क के साथ किया जाता है। मैलवेयर को सबसे पहले कंप्यूटर और अन्य उपकरणों के नेटवर्क को संक्रमित करने के लिए भेजा जाता है। इन संक्रमित उपकरणों और कंप्यूटर को बॉट्स कहा जाता है। DDoS में ऐसे बॉट्स के समूह को बोटनेट कहा जाता है।

DDoS हमले में सबसे पहले एक बोटनेट स्थापित किया जाता है। अब हमलावर बॉटनेट में प्रत्येक बॉट को सीधे निर्देश भेजने में सक्षम हो जाता है। बॉट तब टारगेट आईपी एड्रेस पर अनुरोध भेजता है। इसके बाद सर्वर बड़ी मात्रा में अनुरोध को प्रोसेस करने में अक्षम हो जाता है और सामान्य ट्रैफिक के लिए सेवा से वंचित हो जाती है।

 What is DDoS?

DDoS stands for Distributed Denial of Service. It is a cyber threat that attempts to disrupt the normal traffic of the target server. This is done by controlling the network of malware infected devices.

What happened in Bulgaria?

The malware was sent to the Belnet Network. The network hosts government websites, police services and government universities and research institutes. After this network was infected with the malware virus, the entire network was remotely controlled.

 How does DDoS work?

The attack is carried out with a network of devices connected to the Internet. Malware is first sent to infect networks of computers and other devices. These infected devices and computers are called bots. In DDoS, a group of such bots is called a botnet.

A botnet is first installed in a DDoS attack. Now the attacker is able to send instructions directly to each bot in the botnet. The bot then sends the request to the target IP address. The server is then unable to process a large amount of requests and is denied service for normal traffic.
